The Indian High Commissioner to Kenya highlighted the robust economic ties between India and Kenya, underscoring the potential for further growth at a business event in Eldoret. The event, organized by the High Commission in collaboration with the India-Kenya Chamber of Commerce, aimed to boost trade and investments between the two countries.
During the meeting, industry leaders from Eldoret shared their existing business connections with Indian firms and proposed measures to enhance bilateral trade. Representatives from the County government, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Chairman of IKCC also participated in the event.
In a separate engagement, the High Commissioner and the Governor of Uasin Gishu County explored avenues for cooperation, focusing on attracting Indian investments in various sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, sports, education, and capacity-building. The discussions highlighted the broader India-Kenya partnership framework.
Additionally, the High Commissioner met with the Indian diaspora in Eldoret, acknowledging their significant contributions to the socio-economic progress of Kenya. He praised the diaspora for serving as a vital link between India and Kenya, emphasizing the Indian government’s commitment to strengthening ties with its diaspora worldwide.
