The upcoming episode of Indian Idol will take viewers on a nostalgic journey to the golden era of Bollywood music. Rakesh Bakshi, son of legendary lyricist Anand Bakshi, graced the stage as a special guest, creating a heartwarming blend of generations. Filmmaker Subhash Ghai also made an appearance to honor the enduring legacy of the iconic songwriter.
The atmosphere turned deeply emotional when Rakesh Bakshi shared a personal anecdote with Subhash, unveiling a sentimental treasure he had brought for the occasion. He revealed, “I have brought something that Subhashji will recognize, Bakshi sahab’s glasses. He must have written over two thousand songs wearing these glasses.”
Moved by the gesture, Subhash Ghai reminisced about Anandji, expressing his admiration for the lyricist’s work. He emphasized the importance of lyricists in adding soul to songs through their choice of words. Ghai shared, “Anand Bakshi wrote many songs for my movies. I believe he understood the essence and narrative of my films better than me.”
Expressing his fondness for Bakshi’s work, Ghai mentioned, “My most favorite song by Bakshiji is ‘Zindagi ke safar mein guzar jaate hai jo mukam’. I would like Shreya Ghosal to perform this song live in today’s episode.” Shreya Ghosal, a judge on Indian Idol, was thus urged to present this masterpiece during the show.
