Indian political leaders from various parties have responded to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s (BNP) significant win in the 13th parliamentary elections. They expressed optimism for the restoration of democracy, regional stability, and enhanced bilateral relations. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi emphasized the importance of upholding democracy in Bangladesh, hoping for improved relations with India and proper treatment of minorities. She wished the newly elected leader success in restoring constitutional democracy.

Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC highlighted the democratic process by acknowledging wins and losses, congratulating the BNP leadership on their victory. She stressed the need for a progressive and inclusive Bangladesh to ensure national security and development. BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo reiterated India’s support for the return of democracy in any part of the world.

Bihar Minister Dilip Jaiswal commended the people of Bangladesh for rejecting extremism through the election results, dispelling negative perceptions about the country’s situation. The BNP-led alliance secured a significant victory by winning 210 seats, surpassing the majority threshold and paving the way for a new government formation.

According to reports, BNP chairman Tarique Rahman is poised to become the Prime Minister, marking the return of a male PM to Bangladesh after several decades. Celebrations erupted in Bangladesh as Tarique, following in the footsteps of his mother and grandfather, is set to lead the nation as Prime Minister.
