Outgoing Indian Navy chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi has passed on his duties to Admiral Krishna Swaminathan as he bids farewell to the military service. Admiral Tripathi expressed gratitude to the Government of India for the opportunity to lead the Indian Navy and thanked his colleagues for their support and dedication. He highlighted the Navy’s commitment to safeguarding India’s maritime interests and expressed confidence in Admiral Swaminathan’s leadership.
Admiral Tripathi was honored with a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the South Block lawns in New Delhi, marking the conclusion of his tenure as the highest-ranking officer in the Indian Navy. He also paid respects at the National War Memorial to honor fallen soldiers. Earlier, he met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the Indian Navy’s operational readiness and the security landscape in the Indian Ocean Region.
Admiral Tripathi, who became the 26th Chief of the Naval Staff on April 30, 2024, has had a distinguished career with various operational and administrative roles. His contributions during humanitarian missions and disaster relief efforts have been recognized, and he has received several prestigious awards for his service. Admiral Tripathi’s interests extend beyond his naval career, encompassing sports, international relations, and military history.
