Millions of pilgrims have gathered at Saudi Arabia’s Arafat for the core Haj ritual. Indian pilgrims have comfortably reached the holy site to participate in prayers. Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Suhel Ajaz Khan, extended wishes to all those performing Haj on this significant day of Arafat.
All Indian pilgrims have smoothly transitioned from Mina to Arafat, where they are now settled in their tents. Ambassador Khan mentioned that pilgrims were transported using both buses and trains. Nearly half of the pilgrims utilized trains for the journey. The Indian Embassy in Riyadh confirmed the presence of Ambassador Khan, Indian Consul General of Jeddah, Fahad Suri, and the entire Indian Haj mission in Arafat to assist the Indian pilgrims.
Union Minister for Parliamentary and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, conveyed his greetings and prayers to the Haj pilgrims. He expressed hope that this sacred journey would strengthen values of compassion, harmony, and unity. Ambassador Khan also met with Karnataka’s Minister for Municipal Administration and Haj, Rahim Khan, to discuss preparedness for the upcoming Haj period.
Ambassador Khan visited Mecca and engaged with pilgrims to address their concerns and gather feedback on Haj arrangements. He assessed the readiness for the core Haj period and the movement of pilgrims to the tent city of Mina. The annual Haj pilgrimage in Mecca has attracted over 1.5 million people this year, coinciding with hopes for peace in West Asia.
