Indian Railways has introduced 1,500 special trains to enhance passenger convenience during the festive rush, as per officials. Northeast Frontier Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, stated that these special trains will operate on major routes, ensuring a smoother and more comfortable travel experience. The initiative reflects Indian Railways’ commitment to meeting festive travel demands and offering reliable options for millions of passengers.
To cater to the increased passenger traffic during the Holi festival, Northeast Frontier Railway has initially planned four pairs of special trains, with more to be announced soon. These special trains, including routes like Narangi-Gorakhpur-Narangi and Dibrugarh-Kolkata-Dibrugarh, will run multiple trips from February 18 to March 31. The aim is to connect key destinations and alleviate congestion on regular trains, enabling passengers to celebrate Holi with their families safely and conveniently.
