India’s top shotgun shooters are gearing up to participate in the ISSF World Cup 2026 in Tangier, Morocco, commencing this Thursday. This event marks the beginning of a four-part ISSF World Cup series concentrating on shotgun disciplines this year.
The 20-member Indian team includes prominent athletes such as Maheshwari Chauhan, Kynan Chenai, and Prithviraj Tondaiman, who are all focused on achieving success in the international season. Chauhan will lead India’s challenge in the women’s skeet event, aiming to replicate her strong performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
In the men’s trap event, India has assembled a skilled team featuring Bhowneesh Mendiratta, Kynan Chenai, and Prithviraj Tondaiman, enhancing the country’s chances for medals. The women’s trap team is also formidable, with Rajeshwari Kumari and Aashima Ahlawat among the key contenders.
The ISSF World Cup in Tangier will witness the participation of 271 shooters from 43 National Olympic Committees, ensuring a highly competitive environment. Winners in individual events will secure coveted qualification spots for the ISSF World Cup Final scheduled in Rome in December.
