Aryaveer Dewan, Shiven Agarwal, Anika Dubey, and Amarya Bajaj have advanced to the finals in their respective categories at the 33rd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships in Panzhihua, China. Aryaveer defeated Malaysian top seed Nickhileswar Moganasundharam in the semifinals and will compete for the crown against Md Alnasafan (KSA) or Jonghyeok Lee (Kor).
Shiven Agarwal, after beating fellow Indian Squash Academy trainee Lokesh Subramani in the semifinals, will face Pakistan’s Nauman Khan for the U-17 title. Anika Dubey, a bronze medallist last year, will battle Malaysian top seed Harleein Tan for the U-17 crown. Amarya Bajaj, also a bronze medallist in the boys’ U-13 category last year, will challenge top seed Leung Ngo San of Hong Kong in the U-13 final.
In the semifinals, Aryaveer Dewan defeated Nickhileswar Moganasundharam, Shiven Agarwal overcame Lokesh Subramani, and Anika Dubey won after her opponent retired midway through their match. Amarya Bajaj secured his spot in the final by beating Muhammad Sharhan Mohd Saiful in the semifinals.
