India’s U-15 boys excelled in the semifinals of the Asian Boxing U15 Championships 2026 held in Uzbekistan. Six Indian boxers advanced to the finals, while seven secured bronze medals. Yash Kumar dominated the 33kg category with a 5:0 win over Kiyan Iqbal from the UAE, securing a spot in the final round.
Samir Bohra displayed confidence in the 43kg category, defeating Uzbekistan’s Adizbek Ilkhombekov with a 4:1 score. Sudarsan Vasudeva Chandak (52kg) started strong with a victory over Iran’s Amirmahdi Shad in the first round. Mohd Yasser claimed a clear 5:0 victory in the 58kg category against Seyyedariyamohammad Mousa from Iran.
In other matches, Rohit Pothina (35kg) faced a defeat against Zhaksylyk Yermekuly from Kazakhstan, while Nitin (40kg) narrowly lost to Jasurbek Khayrullaev of Uzbekistan. The Indian team aims to convert their impressive performances into gold medals in the upcoming finals after securing six finalists and seven bronze medals.
