India’s U-17 girls showcased impressive performances at the Asian Boxing U17 Championships 2026 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Eight boxers have secured spots in the finals, while four have clinched bronze medals after the semifinals. Rakhi (46kg) stood out with a commanding victory over Yating Zhang of China, leading the charge.
Khushi Chand (48kg) secured a dominant 5:0 win against Mungunzul Altamgadasa of Mongolia. However, Mamta Murlidhar Raut (52kg) and Laxmi Manjunath Lamani (54kg) faced tough competition, resulting in losses against opponents from China and Uzbekistan, respectively.
Navya (57kg) advanced to the final with a remarkable win over Dagiimaa Chuluutumur of Mongolia. The Indian team’s strong run also saw victories from Diya (63kg), Himanshi (70kg), Jyoti (75kg), and Vanshika (80kg), setting the stage for a promising final showdown.
India’s U-15 boys also excelled at the championships, with six boxers progressing to the finals and seven securing bronze medals. Notable performances include Yash Kumar’s victory in the 33kg category and Sastha Vasanth Ashok Kumar’s impressive win in the 37kg category.
