Members of the Indian women’s cricket team paid a heartfelt tribute to England’s Tammy Beaumont and Heather Knight as the duo retired from international cricket after the historic one-off Test at Lord’s. Following India’s remarkable 270-run victory in the first women’s Test at Lord’s, the players presented signed Team India jerseys to the retiring cricketers in a touching gesture. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video of the emotional presentation on social media, hailing it as a fitting tribute to the two stalwarts of the game.

The Lord’s Test marked the final international appearance for Beaumont and former England captain Knight, who played crucial roles in England’s women’s cricket journey. In a special moment captured on camera, Indian batter Jemimah Rodrigues expressed gratitude to the veterans for their immense contributions to the sport. She thanked them for inspiring generations of cricketers and acknowledged the hard work, sacrifices, and dedication they brought to the game throughout their distinguished careers.

Addressing Beaumont and Knight in the visitors’ dressing room, Jemimah highlighted the impact the two players had on women’s cricket globally. The retiring cricketers, with careers spanning over a decade, were visibly moved by the gesture from the Indian team. The presentation of signed jerseys symbolized the respect and admiration for Beaumont and Knight’s legacy in the women’s game, leaving a lasting memory on their final match for England.
