Hockey India has revealed the Indian Women’s Hockey Team lineup for the upcoming Tour of Australia set to take place in Perth from May 26 to 30. The team will compete in a four-match series at the Perth Hockey Stadium on May 26, 27, 29, and 30. This tour aims to prepare the team for the FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup 2025–26 scheduled in Auckland from June 15–21.
The Indian Team, coming off a strong performance in Argentina earlier this year with two wins in a four-match series, has been rigorously training at the national camp in SAI Bengaluru. The focus has been on refining crucial aspects of their game in anticipation of a busy international season ahead.
Salima Tete, a bronze medallist at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and Asian Games, will captain the team during the upcoming tour. The squad includes experienced players like Savita, Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam, Lalremsiami, and Navneet Kaur, alongside promising talents such as Sonam, Hina Bano, and Lalthantluangi.
The team’s goalkeeping duties for the tour will be handled by Savita and Bichu Devi Kharibam. In defense, players like Nikki Pradhan, Ishika Chaudhary, Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam, Lalthantluangi, and Jyoti will feature, with Shilpi Dabas earning her first senior team call-up. Salima Tete will lead the midfield, supported by players like Neha and Lalremsiami, while Navneet Kaur will spearhead the forward line.
Chief Coach Sjoerd Marijne emphasized the squad’s blend of experience and youth, highlighting the importance of providing opportunities for young players at the international level. He expressed his expectations for the tour, aiming to maintain the performance level seen in the team’s recent matches in Argentina and striving for consistency and improvement in their upcoming games.
