The Indian Women’s Team’s journey to the FIH Hockey World Cup Belgium & Netherlands 2026 showcases their resilience and determination. After narrowly missing direct qualification at the Women’s Asia Cup 2025, they secured their spot through qualifiers held at home and later triumphed at the FIH Nations Cup in New Zealand. The upcoming event, co-hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands, is set from 15 to 30 August 2026.

India, placed in Pool D, will face China, England, and South Africa during the group stage at the Wagener Hockey Stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands. Despite missing direct qualification for the Asia Cup 2025, India’s strong performance led them to focus on seizing the next opportunity to pursue their World Cup dreams. The team reconvened at the FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup Qualifiers in Hyderabad in March 2026.

Navneet Kaur, an experienced forward, emerged as a standout performer in the qualifiers, scoring four goals and earning the title of ‘Player of the Tournament’. At the Nations Cup in New Zealand, the team remained undefeated, winning the title and securing a promotion back to the FIH Pro League. With recent successes and a blend of experience and youth, India heads to Belgium and the Netherlands with confidence and belief in their ability to challenge top teams.
