The Indian Youth boxing team displayed impressive performances at the World Boxing Futures Cup 2026 in Bangkok. Gunjan, Radhamani Longjam, and Chandrika Pujari secured victories in their respective bouts. Gunjan (48kg) triumphed over Poland with a 5-0 unanimous decision, while Radhamani Longjam (57kg) defeated her Ecuadorian opponent by Referee Stopped Contest (RSC) in the first round.
In contrast, Prachi (60kg) faced a defeat against Slovakia, and Priyansh Sehrawat (70kg) lost to Morocco in the men’s division. Chandrika Pujari (50kg) later clinched a 5-0 unanimous decision victory against the United States in the evening session. The World Boxing Futures Cup, ongoing from March 8 to 15, showcases talented youth boxers competing in the Youth Olympic weight categories for international exposure and future competition readiness.
The Indian contingent aims to maintain its winning momentum as the tournament progresses. Earlier, on Day 4, Priyansh Sehrawat (70kg) started the day positively with a 5-0 unanimous decision victory over Latvia. In the evening, L. Ambekar (50kg) and Sahil Duhan (60kg) secured convincing wins against Tajikistan with 5-0 unanimous decisions. However, Aman Siwach (65kg) suffered a setback, losing to a Ukrainian opponent by Referee Stopped Contest (RSC) in the second round.
