Ambekar (50kg) and Sahil Duhan (60kg) secured convincing wins against Tajikistan, maintaining India’s success.
Aman Siwach (65kg) faced a setback, losing to a Ukrainian opponent by Referee Stopped Contest (RSC) in the second round. The tournament, running from March 8 to 15 in Bangkok, showcases promising youth boxers in the Youth Olympic weight categories, providing valuable international exposure. The Indian team aims to sustain its momentum in the upcoming stages.
Chandrika Pujari (50kg) and Joyshree Devi (54kg) continued India’s success on Day 3. Pujari secured a 5-0 victory over a Venezuelan opponent, while Devi won by Referee Stopped Contest (RSC) against Kazakhstan. In the men’s division, L. Ambekar (50kg) advanced with a 5-0 win over Ecuador, contributing to India’s positive start.
Gunjan (48kg) clinched a narrow 3-2 victory against Italy, and Prachi (60kg) defeated her Ecuadorian opponent via RSC in the opening round. These victories added to India’s successful day at the tournament, showcasing the team’s strength and determination.
