India’s Ambassador to Hungary, Anshuman Gaur, and Gyorgy Laszlo Velkey, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, recently met to reinforce the warm ties between the two countries. Discussions centered on enhancing the partnership in various sectors in the coming months, leveraging India’s growing strategic and commercial influence for the benefit of Hungarian businesses and institutions.
During a previous meeting with Klara Breuer, State Secretary for Bilateral Affairs at the Hungarian Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Ambassador explored avenues to further strengthen the India-Hungary relationship. Both sides emphasized the importance of mutual respect and shared democratic values as the foundation of their partnership, expressing eagerness to expand cooperation under Breuer’s leadership.
In a separate engagement, the Ambassador engaged with Agnes Forsthoffer, the Speaker of Hungary’s National Assembly, to discuss deepening bilateral cooperation and fostering parliamentary exchanges. The discussions highlighted the shared commitment to democracy and parliamentary functions, culminating in plans to establish an India-Hungary Parliamentary Friendship Group in the near future.
