India’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Paramita Tripathi, recently met with Farwaniya Governorate Governor Sheikh Athbi Nasser Al-Athbi Al-Sabah to enhance cooperation and people-to-people relations between the two countries. Tripathi expressed gratitude for the Governor’s support towards the Indian community’s safety and well-being in Kuwait. Discussions also included community initiatives like the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign and International Day of Yoga.
In addition to this meeting, Tripathi also engaged with the Governor of the Capital Governorate of Kuwait, Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, focusing on the Strategic Partnership and the welfare of the Indian community in Kuwait. Furthermore, she met Kuwait’s Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Tareq Al-Jalahma, to discuss enhancing cooperation in sports and youth engagement, emphasizing the importance of sports cooperation between the two nations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephonic conversation with Kuwait Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah earlier in March. During the call, they discussed the evolving situation in West Asia and expressed concerns over recent developments. PM Modi reiterated India’s support for Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasizing the importance of safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and the need for sustained diplomatic engagement for regional peace and stability.
