India’s Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, emphasized that India’s progress is primarily driven by economic growth, prosperity, and national security. Speaking at The New India Conference in Washington, Kwatra stressed the importance of addressing challenges like cross-border terrorism alongside economic development. He highlighted the country’s robust economic expansion, with a GDP growth exceeding 7%, and emphasized the significant transformations taking place in governance, infrastructure, and technology.
Kwatra pointed out that governance reform is a key focus, ensuring inclusive growth and financial access for all segments of society. He highlighted the government’s efforts to enhance transparency and financial inclusion, aiming to benefit the broader population. Additionally, he underscored the critical role of infrastructure development, both physical and digital, in driving India’s progress.
The ambassador also discussed advancements in technology, innovation, and manufacturing, emphasizing the interconnected nature of these sectors. He highlighted the importance of strategic policy decisions to meet future demands, particularly in areas like semiconductors, data centers, and nuclear energy.
