India’s Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, met with UAE’s Land Forces Commander, Major General Staff Yousef Maayouf Saeed Al Hallami, to discuss enhancing military engagement and advancing defense cooperation between the two nations. The discussions focused on training convergence and strengthening bilateral defense ties.
During his visit, General Dwivedi also visited the Land Forces Museum to learn about the rich history and military heritage of the UAE Land Forces. He further engaged with India’s Ambassador to the UAE, Deepak Mittal, to bolster bilateral cooperation, emphasizing military diplomacy and strategic ties between India and the UAE.
General Dwivedi’s official visit to the UAE aims to strengthen defense cooperation and military-to-military relations with friendly foreign countries. He will meet with senior leadership of the UAE Armed Forces, visit key military establishments, and interact with officers and troops to underscore the growing defense partnership between India and the UAE.
The engagements in the UAE are part of efforts to enhance bilateral defense cooperation, promote professional military exchanges, and deepen strategic understanding between the armed forces of both countries. Following his visit to the UAE, General Dwivedi is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka to further strengthen defense cooperation and regional security in the Indian Ocean Region and West Asia.
