India’s deeptech ecosystem in agriculture and water management is on the rise, according to Nasscom. The industry body highlighted this trend at the Deeptech Confluence 2026, where startups are moving towards large-scale commercialization with technologies like AI, IoT, biotechnology, and climate solutions.
Sangeeta Gupta, Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at Nasscom, emphasized the potential of deeptech in agriculture and water sectors. She mentioned that combining AI, IoT, biotech, and other technologies can bring significant economic, environmental, and social benefits.
At the event, Nasscom showcased 12 startups from its Deeptech Club’s growth program, DTC Accelerate. This program aims to assist startups in transitioning from pilot projects to scalable enterprise solutions. The Confluence provided a platform for discussions on market access, investment readiness, and cross-sector collaboration.
India’s agriculture and water sectors are under pressure due to climate change and resource constraints. While agritech and watertech innovations have progressed, startups often face challenges in scaling their solutions. Nasscom’s initiative aims to bridge this gap by connecting innovators with potential partners for real-world deployment and adoption.
