India’s External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, met with his Finnish counterpart, Elina Valtonen, in Helsinki to discuss the progress of the India-Finland Strategic Partnership on Digitalisation and Sustainability. The ministers explored collaboration in various areas such as start-ups, AI, semiconductors, critical minerals, quantum technologies, 6G, clean energy, and space. They also agreed to enhance trade and investment relations while continuing their political engagement.
During the visit, EAM Jaishankar expressed anticipation for discussions with Finnish leadership and colleagues at the Kultaranta Talks. Minister Valtonen welcomed the Indian delegation, highlighting the strong bilateral relations between Finland and India. Both countries aim to strengthen trade connections and leverage opportunities in digitalization and sustainability.
EAM Jaishankar is on an official visit to Bulgaria and Finland from June 10-11, engaging in talks with Bulgarian officials and visiting key sites. In Bulgaria, he emphasized the need to modernize and elevate the longstanding relationship between India and Bulgaria. The discussions focused on bilateral cooperation, India-EU partnership, and joint initiatives for global welfare, reflecting shared political perspectives.
