India’s High Commissioner-designate to Bangladesh, Dinesh Trivedi, along with his wife, arrived in Dhaka on Friday via the Petrapole-Benapole border crossing. They were greeted by the Indian Deputy High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Pawan Badhe. The Indian High Commission in Dhaka shared the arrival visuals on social media, emphasizing the significance of border connectivity in bilateral relations.
The envoy’s arrival through the land route is seen as a symbolic gesture to strengthen ties between Bangladesh and India. Trivedi highlighted the strong people-to-people connections between the two nations, emphasizing the common dreams and shared values. He expressed the importance of love and affection in resolving issues and fostering a harmonious relationship.
Trivedi, a former Union Minister, was appointed as India’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh by the Ministry of External Affairs in April. His tenure comes at a crucial time when both countries are working towards enhancing their bilateral relations. Recent high-level meetings between Indian and Bangladeshi officials have focused on strengthening ties and addressing regional and global developments.
