India’s High Commissioner to Fiji, Suneet Mehta, recently met with Fiji Parliament Speaker Filimone Jitoko to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation. The meeting emphasized the importance of strong parliamentary relations and explored avenues to further advance mutual cooperation. Additionally, High Commissioner Mehta chaired a meeting to review the Quick Impact Project (QIP) supporting the “Tubalevu Ground Water Supply Project” in Fiji.
High Commissioner Mehta’s discussions with various Fijian officials, including the Minister for Finance, Commerce, and Business Development, Esrom Immanuel, focused on strengthening ties and enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The longstanding relationship between India and Fiji, rooted in mutual respect and cultural ties, has seen significant development over the years. India’s support to Fiji spans nation-building efforts across key sectors and capacity building initiatives.
