India’s humanitarian relief mission, ‘Operation Amistad’, is being highly praised in Venezuela for its professionalism and quality services following the recent devastating earthquakes. Launched to aid Venezuela after twin earthquakes of magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 on June 24, the Indian assistance arrived in the country on June 28. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed confidence that the Field Hospital Unit and relief supplies would enhance ongoing relief efforts.
A specialized Indian Army medical contingent has been deployed to assist in earthquake-hit Venezuela. The death toll from the earthquakes has tragically risen to 2,295, with 11,267 reported injuries, according to Venezuelan National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez. The Indian medical team at the field hospital under ‘Operation Amistad’ has been commended by the people of Venezuela for their dedicated treatment of earthquake victims.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) shared images and videos on social media platforms, showcasing the medical care provided at the field hospital. One local resident recounted a patient’s experience, praising the hospital’s excellent care for a double fibula fracture sustained during the earthquake. The patient received immediate and exceptional treatment, highlighting the quality of service provided by the Indian medical team.
