India’s Rinku Singh showcased an outstanding performance by scoring an unbeaten century in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match. Singh’s impressive knock of 106 runs off just 60 balls, along with Aryan Juyal’s 134 runs off 118 deliveries, led Uttar Pradesh to a commanding total of 367/4. Chandigarh, in response, struggled against Uttar Pradesh’s bowling attack and were bundled out for 140 runs.
Leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari starred with the ball, claiming four wickets for Uttar Pradesh. His brilliant spell, supported by Vipraj Nigam and Prashant Veer, restricted Chandigarh to a low total. Juyal’s innings was marked by eight sixes and seven fours, while Singh’s late acceleration, comprising 10 boundaries and four sixes, further boosted Uttar Pradesh’s score.
Singh, who is part of India’s squad for the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup, played a crucial role in guiding his team to a convincing victory. His partnership with Juyal and later with Prashant Veer proved instrumental in Uttar Pradesh’s dominating performance. This remarkable display is likely to bolster Singh’s case as a key player for India in the T20 format.
