India’s supply chain remains stable and well-prepared amidst global concerns over West Asia’s geopolitical tensions, according to the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT). CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal assured that there are sufficient stocks of essential goods nationwide, with proactive monitoring and effective coordination ensuring uninterrupted supply chains. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has bolstered its sourcing diversification, logistics infrastructure, digital monitoring, and domestic production capabilities, enhancing its resilience.
The government’s emphasis on self-reliance, coupled with initiatives like supply chain digitization and infrastructure enhancement, has further fortified the country’s trade and commerce resilience. This strategic approach, as highlighted by Khandelwal, showcases India’s readiness to navigate global uncertainties while protecting its citizens and business community interests. CAIT National President B C Bhartia has urged traders to maintain smooth operations, avoid panic responses, and cooperate with authorities to ensure uninterrupted supply and consumer convenience.
Khandelwal and Bhartia strongly denounced individuals spreading false rumors and misinformation about essential commodity shortages. They emphasized that such claims are unfounded, misleading, and detrimental to national interests, calling for strict action against those inciting market panic.
