Conversations on India’s technological advancements took center stage at the AI Summit in New Delhi. The event, attended by national and international delegates, highlighted India’s ambitions in artificial intelligence and digital innovation. Panipat-based academician Prof. (Dr.) Sushil Kumar Mishra commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for integrating technology into governance, emphasizing its role in enhancing transparency and efficiency.
Dr. Mishra cited examples like Aadhaar-linked welfare schemes and digital systems improving service delivery to illustrate how technology has minimized leakages. He stressed the importance of India leading in technology to become a global superpower, noting that artificial intelligence is pivotal for future growth. Hosting such a significant summit showcased India’s capabilities and long-term vision to the world.
Discussing the government’s efforts to ensure digital innovation benefits all citizens, Dr. Mishra highlighted initiatives like Direct Benefit Transfer systems and digital banking. With the rise of smartphone usage and upcoming 5G and 6G networks, he expressed confidence in AI-powered systems operating effectively at grassroots levels. Dr. Mishra also emphasized how events like the AI Summit enhance India’s global image by demonstrating technological prowess to foreign delegates.
While acknowledging the importance of democratic debate, Dr. Mishra suggested that major international platforms like the summit should foster national unity. He believed that political disagreements should be addressed in appropriate forums like Parliament, especially when India aims to be a global leader. Dr. Mishra viewed artificial intelligence and digital transformation not just as policy initiatives but as pathways shaping the future of 1.4 billion people. He emphasized the need to prioritize national development over political differences as India advances in technological leadership.
