India’s U-15 girls showcased a dominant performance in the semifinals of the Asian Boxing U15 & U17 Championships 2026 held in Tashkent. Nine Indian boxers advanced to the finals after impressive displays in various weight categories.
In the 30–33kg division, Akshita secured a resounding victory by RSC in the second round against Ayazhan Marat from Kazakhstan. Jiya, competing in the 35kg category, fought valiantly but lost by split decision to Malika Moldogazieva of Kyrgyzstan.
Continuing the winning streak, Anzee in the 37kg class triumphed with a convincing 5:0 win over Sarvinoz Riskulova from Uzbekistan. Soniya, in the 40kg weight category, also claimed a dominant 5:0 victory against Diana Mendigarayeva of Kazakhstan.
Tanvi, competing in the 43kg weight class, secured a win by RSC in the second round against Sezim Nurlubek from Kazakhstan. Hanshika Attri, in the 46kg category, followed up with an impressive RSC victory in the first round over Yuhui Cheon from Korea.
In the subsequent matches, Khushi Rana in the 49kg division suffered a defeat by 0:5 against Zebiniso Abdullayeva of Uzbekistan. Knishka, competing in the 52kg category, also faced a 0:5 loss against Samal Tolepbergen from Kazakhstan.
Sunaina, in the 58kg class, delivered a strong performance, securing a victory by RSC in the first round against Ardak Abdikhan from Kazakhstan. Bhumika, competing in the 61kg category, secured a win by RSC in the second round against Chiao-Ying Chang from Chinese Taipei.
Tannvi, in the 64kg weight division, registered a hard-fought 4:1 victory over Yasmin Jautkhanova from Kazakhstan to advance to the finals. In the higher weight categories, Aashvi in the 67kg class lost by RSC in the second round against Nurgul Sakhi from Kazakhstan, while Manvi in the 70+kg category went down 0:5 against Zahro Daniyorova from Uzbekistan.
With nine finalists confirmed, the Indian U-15 girls team is now aiming to convert their strong performance into gold medals in the upcoming finals.
