IndiGo, a low-cost airline, has announced that it will launch operations from Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, starting June 15, 2026. This move makes IndiGo the first airline to operate commercial flights from the newly inaugurated airport. The airline plans to introduce direct flights connecting Noida International Airport to more than 16 destinations across India, including major metro cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad, as well as tier-2 and tier-3 cities such as Amritsar, Chandigarh, and Jaipur.
Bookings for these flights are gradually being made available on IndiGo’s official website, mobile app, and through authorized travel partners. Aloke Singh, Chief Strategy Officer at IndiGo, highlighted the strategic location of Noida International Airport on the Yamuna Expressway, emphasizing its significance as the new gateway for western Uttar Pradesh within the National Capital Region (NCR). Singh expressed pride in IndiGo’s role in serving all three airports in the NCR – IGI Airport, Hindon, and now NIA, as part of the airline’s commitment to providing affordable and reliable travel experiences.
Noida International Airport, one of India’s largest greenfield airport projects, is poised to become a key hub for domestic and international travelers. With a focus on integrated multi-modal connectivity, the airport boasts extensive road and rail links that will enhance connectivity between Delhi-NCR and western Uttar Pradesh. IndiGo’s launch of operations from NIA is expected to improve customer access across the NCR, strengthen domestic connectivity, and support the growth of India’s aviation infrastructure.
The first phase of Noida International Airport, developed at an investment of approximately Rs 11,200 crore under a Public-Private Partnership model, will initially accommodate 12 million passengers annually, with plans for scalability up to 70 million passengers per year upon full completion.
