Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto bid farewell to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the airport as he departed for Australia following his three-day State visit to Indonesia. The two leaders shared a warm hug before PM Modi boarded the plane. President Prabowo had also welcomed PM Modi at the airport when he arrived in Jakarta at the beginning of his visit.
PM Modi and President Prabowo jointly inaugurated the UNESCO World Heritage Prambanan Temple restoration project in Yogyakarta. PM Modi offered prayers at the temple and admired the iconic Prambanan Temple, the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia. During his stay, PM Modi engaged in discussions with President Subianto, addressed the Indonesian Parliament, and participated in an Indian community event.
The leaders discussed various aspects of the India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, covering trade, investment, defence, maritime cooperation, energy, healthcare, space, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. They emphasized their commitment to peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. Both sides exchanged bilateral agreements on areas such as maritime safety, space cooperation, defence, healthcare, agriculture, and science and technology to enhance cooperation.
PM Modi concluded his visit to Indonesia and headed to Australia for a three-day trip, where he is set to attend the India-Australia Annual Summit with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Additionally, he will visit the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and participate in an Indian community event in Melbourne.
