Global semiconductor leader Infineon Technologies AG has teamed up with Indian power-electronics company Zenergize to bolster India’s clean energy and electric mobility initiatives. The collaboration was unveiled at the Bharat Electricity Summit (BES) 2026 in New Delhi. This partnership focuses on technology integration and product development, excluding the formation of a joint venture.
Infineon will supply cutting-edge power semiconductor solutions, including silicon carbide (SiC) technology, and offer engineering assistance under the agreement. These technologies are anticipated to enhance the performance of systems utilized in solar energy, electric vehicle (EV) charging, and energy storage. Infineon’s wide-bandgap semiconductor technology is designed to provide superior efficiency, reduced power losses, and enhanced power density compared to conventional silicon-based systems.
The advanced technologies could potentially enhance solar inverters, expedite EV chargers, and boost the efficiency of energy storage solutions, particularly in India’s demanding conditions. This collaboration underscores Infineon’s enduring commitment to India, where it has operated for nearly three decades and employs over 2,500 individuals across various sites. Executives from the company expressed that this partnership will merge Infineon’s global technological prowess with Zenergize’s grasp of local needs, aiming to create products tailored for Indian conditions with future global scalability.
At a time when India is heavily investing in renewable energy, electric vehicles, and decentralized power systems, this collaboration is significant. The country’s governmental initiatives and escalating demand for clean energy solutions are generating robust prospects for firms operating in the power-electronics sector. Infineon emphasized that such partnerships will fortify India’s indigenous technology ecosystem and aid in achieving self-sufficiency in critical sectors while upholding international standards.
