The Intelligence Bureau has issued a high alert for security agencies ahead of Republic Day in Delhi, cautioning about a potential coordinated attack by Jaish-e-Mohammad and Al Qaeda. The groups are also reportedly targeting the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Security measures have been intensified in these areas, with ongoing operations to dismantle associated networks.
Following the recent bust of a Jaish-inspired module near the Red Fort, concerns have escalated. An attempted blast near the Red Fort was foiled, prompting increased vigilance. Authorities suspect the involvement of a Faridabad module, which possessed a significant amount of ammonium nitrate.
Efforts are underway to track down the planned attacks’ perpetrators, believed to have connections to Jammu and Kashmir. Online activities by groups like Falcon Squad, allegedly linked to the Kashmiri Resistance Group, are being closely monitored for potential incitement and propaganda. The ISI is reportedly backing these operations, enlisting support from the Khalistan network in Punjab.
Security agencies are also monitoring northeastern states and West Bengal amid concerns of a plot originating in Bangladesh targeting these regions. With upcoming elections in West Bengal and the northeastern states, authorities are on high alert for potential infiltration by trained individuals seeking to disrupt the electoral process.
