The Gujarat Region Junior Swimming Championship, organized by the International Schools Sports Organisation (ISSO), took place at the Adani International School in Ahmedabad. The event brought together 140 young swimmers from various international schools in the state, showcasing the growing interest in swimming at the grassroots level.

Adani International School emerged as the champions of the championship with 253 points, followed by The Riverside School in the runners-up position with 147 points. The event featured competitions in the Under-9 and Under-11 categories, emphasizing skill, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship among the participants.

The presence of Venikha Parekh, an accomplished swimmer and Guest of Honour, added prestige to the championship. Parekh’s interaction with the young swimmers, sharing insights from her own experiences, served as a source of inspiration for the budding athletes.

The championship not only provided a platform for early exposure and talent identification but also highlighted the dedication and competitive spirit displayed by the young swimmers. ISSO India’s Director, Aakanksha Thapak, emphasized the importance of structured platforms in nurturing talent and fostering values of sportsmanship and perseverance among young athletes.

Several young swimmers stood out by clinching three gold medals each in their respective categories. Participants like Kaveer Kapadia, Aaren Gandhi, Meera Patel, and Naina Bhagchandani showcased exceptional performances, reflecting the depth of talent in junior swimming competitions.
