In a proud moment for Rajasthan and India, Rahis Bharti and his ensemble ‘Dhoad – Gypsies of Rajasthan’ were chosen by the Embassy of India in Paris to perform at a grand welcome ceremony for Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his official visit to France. The cultural event, “Bonjour Modi,” took place at the Salle Pleyel Concert Hall in Paris, attended by Indian diaspora members, dignitaries, and international guests.
Rahis Bharti and the Dhoad Ensemble, representing Rajasthan’s rich artistic heritage, delivered a mesmerizing performance at the event, earning a standing ovation. Their selection for this significant occasion by the Embassy of India in Paris underscores their reputation as cultural ambassadors of Indian and Rajasthani traditions.
The performance showcased the beauty and vibrancy of India’s cultural heritage, featuring iconic folk pieces like “Kesariya Balam – Aao Ni Padharo Mhare Des” and the renowned Ghoomar dance. With colorful costumes, traditional instruments, and dynamic choreography, the presentation transformed the concert hall into a celebration of Rajasthan’s living heritage.
Following their successful performance in Paris, Rahis Bharti and the Dhoad Ensemble are continuing their European tour, participating in various festivals and events across France, Italy, Germany, Spain, and Switzerland. They will also take part in the World Music Day celebrations in Paris, promoting Rajasthan’s unique artistic traditions on a global platform.
