The investigation into a brutal gang-rape case in Bihar’s Begusarai district, reminiscent of the Nirbhaya incident, has escalated. Following the incident on June 11, where a woman was violated and objects were found in her private parts during treatment, the case gained significant attention. Senior Bihar Police officials are actively pursuing the case, with the Chakia SHO facing disciplinary action for alleged negligence.
Begusarai Range DIG, Shailesh Kumar Sinha, visited the victim at Sadar Hospital to gather information and review the investigation’s progress. The DIG, along with police officials, is closely monitoring the case and has suspended the Chakia SHO, Rajiv Ranjan, due to suspected mishandling of the situation. An FIR has been lodged, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
Authorities have conducted a fresh medical examination and are awaiting the final report, crucial for determining the next steps. The police have assured the public that all involved in the crime will be arrested. The case has sparked public outrage, highlighting concerns over women’s safety in Bihar, with officials emphasizing stringent legal and departmental actions based on investigative outcomes.
