Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized Ukraine’s assault on an Iranian ship, labeling it as unlawful and dangerous. The Ministry warned that this action will not be left without a response. The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baqaei, likened Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s behavior to pre-World War I anarchists during a press conference.
The Ministry emphasized that the Ukrainian regime’s supporters should be held accountable for the attack on the Iranian vessel. Baqaei highlighted that such provocative actions could lead to unpredictable consequences and impact the entire region. Iran stressed that it has not interfered in the Russia-Ukraine conflict and denounced Kyiv’s actions as a breach of international laws.
Iran condemned the explosion on the Iranian commercial ship, which resulted in casualties. The Ministry reiterated that the attack violated the UN Charter and could escalate the existing conflict. It called on the UN Security Council and European nations to address Ukraine’s aggressive behavior and hold the government responsible. Iran urged for a responsible stance to prevent further escalation of tensions in the region.
