Iran is planning to revise the text of a potential memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United States after receiving the latest response from the US. The semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that Iran will introduce its own changes to the draft deal, emphasizing that nothing has been finalized yet.
According to reports, US President Donald Trump has expressed concerns about certain aspects of the draft agreement, particularly regarding the release of Iran’s frozen assets and stricter terms related to Iran’s nuclear material. The two countries are working towards finalizing an MoU to end the conflict that began on February 28 with joint attacks by the US and Israel against Iran.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf stated that Tehran will not agree to any deal with the US until the rights of the Iranian people are safeguarded. He highlighted the importance of tangible achievements and ensuring that the nation’s rights are protected before approving any agreement. Ghalibaf also emphasized the need to translate military victories into political and legal gains through diplomacy.
In a social media post, Ghalibaf underscored that concessions are not obtained through dialogue but through strength, while negotiations are aimed at making positions clear. He warned against external efforts to create internal discord in Iran through economic pressure and media influence, expressing confidence in the resilience of the Iranian people.
