Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi is set to visit Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, to convey Iran’s stance on ending the conflict with the United States and Israel. Leading a diplomatic delegation, Araghchi will also travel to Oman and Russia to ensure close coordination with Iran’s partners on bilateral issues and discuss regional developments. Notably, there will be no negotiations with US officials during his visit.
In Muscat, Oman, Araghchi will engage in talks on regional matters and the ongoing conflict, while in Russia, discussions will focus on bilateral, regional, and international developments. Araghchi emphasized the importance of coordinating with neighboring countries, stating that they are a priority for Iran. Despite the visit, Iran currently has no plans for negotiations with the United States, clarifies reports.
Iran’s state-run IRIB TV highlighted that Araghchi’s visit to Islamabad does not involve talks with the US side. However, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the arrival of the Iranian delegation led by Araghchi. The visit comes in the aftermath of joint attacks by Israel and the US on Iran, leading to retaliatory strikes and a subsequent ceasefire. Peace talks in Islamabad earlier failed, resulting in the US imposing a naval blockade on the Strait of Hormuz.
