Iran’s leadership is displaying internal divisions and a willingness to negotiate, suggesting significant pressure on Tehran, according to Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar. Talks between Iran and the US are ongoing, with US President Donald Trump updating Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the situation. Azar expressed optimism about the negotiations and highlighted support from Gulf nations for Israel’s actions in response to Iranian attacks.
Azar noted the shift in Iran’s stance towards negotiations, attributing it to perceived pressure on the Iranian leadership. He mentioned signs of insecurity and internal discord within Iran, indicating a potential for successful negotiations. Trump recently stated that the US is actively engaged in talks with Iran, asserting that the conflict has been resolved.
The President mentioned key officials involved in the negotiations, including Vice President J D Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and others. Trump emphasized Iran’s offer of concessions related to energy routes during the talks. He reiterated the US stance against Iran developing nuclear weapons and declared the conflict with Iran as “won,” dismissing reports of ongoing fighting as misinformation.
