The Iranian military has affirmed its commitment to safeguarding national interests, defending strategic infrastructure, and preserving public property amidst ongoing protests. Emphasizing the need for unity to counter perceived threats, the military urged Iranians to thwart external plots aimed at destabilizing the country. Accusing Israel and hostile terrorist groups of inciting unrest, the military called for vigilance and solidarity to counter these alleged schemes.
In a coordinated effort under the leadership of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the army and other armed forces will closely monitor hostile activities and ensure the protection of vital assets and public resources. The military’s statement highlighted the nation’s current state, describing it as being amidst a conflict where defending Iran’s interests is paramount.
Meanwhile, Ali Larijani, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, held Israel accountable for the prevailing situation in Iran. Additionally, Iran’s Constitutional Council spokesperson attributed the protests to foreign interference, alleging that external involvement had transformed peaceful demonstrations over livelihood issues into violent disturbances.
Addressing the situation on the ground, the governor of Baharestan disclosed that authorities had apprehended 100 individuals accused of instigating disorder and leading violent acts in the city. The arrested individuals were reported to have used weapons to attack both civilians and security personnel.
