Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf emphasized that Tehran would not agree to any deal with the United States until the rights of the Iranian people were safeguarded. Ghalibaf expressed skepticism towards the trustworthiness of the US, highlighting the need for tangible achievements to ensure the fulfillment of commitments.
Ghalibaf underscored the importance of translating Iran’s battlefield successes into political and legal gains through diplomacy. He cautioned against external efforts to instigate internal discord through economic pressure and media manipulation, affirming the Iranian people’s resilience against such tactics.
In a social media post, Ghalibaf stated that Iran secures concessions through strength rather than dialogue, using negotiations to clarify positions. Separately, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported that 28 vessels, including oil tankers and commercial ships, safely navigated the Strait of Hormuz under its protection in the past 24 hours.
US President Donald Trump mentioned progress towards a potential nuclear agreement with Iran while reiterating the readiness for military action if negotiations falter. Trump emphasized preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons as a top priority, indicating a willingness to pursue diplomatic solutions while keeping military options open.
