Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that certain countries are initiating mediation efforts to address the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel, which recently resulted in the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Emphasizing a commitment to regional peace, Pezeshkian also highlighted the nation’s resolve in safeguarding its dignity and sovereignty.
Reports have surfaced indicating that Iran has launched a fresh series of attacks on Israel, utilizing ballistic missiles such as the advanced Khorramshahr-4. The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed the commencement of the “22nd wave of Operation True Promise 4,” deploying a significant number of Khorramshahr 4 missiles directly into occupied territories.
In response to Iran’s actions, an Israeli airstrike targeted a residential building in Sidon, Lebanon, near the Al-Siddiq Mosque. The strike, which hit a floor below the building’s top level, prompted emergency response efforts, although the extent of casualties and damage remains unclear.
The United States has signaled an expansion of its military campaign against Iran under ‘Operation Epic Fury,’ with plans to escalate strikes aimed at dismantling Tehran’s military and missile infrastructure. Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth commended the operation’s progress, acknowledging the significant impact on Iran’s military capabilities.
US Central Command’s Admiral Brad Cooper reported on the ongoing mission, noting the degradation of Iran’s military capacity. The campaign, now in its sixth day, has seen extensive US air strikes within Iranian territory, targeting missile facilities and other key military infrastructure. Naval operations have also intensified, with a focus on disrupting Iran’s missile production capabilities.
