Deputy Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Baqeri, clarified that discussions with the US do not involve Iran’s enriched uranium reserves. Speaking at a security forum in Moscow, Baqeri emphasized that this topic is not on the agenda. He also mentioned that talks on reopening the Strait of Hormuz are ongoing without a final agreement in place.
Baqeri highlighted that until all issues are resolved, no agreements have been reached between Iran and the US regarding maritime transit in the region. He noted that indirect communications between the two countries are continuing, but did not provide specifics on the nature or location of these interactions.
Amid diplomatic efforts to ease tensions in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, mentioned progress in discussions with the US. However, he emphasized that no specific timeline has been set for finalizing any agreements. Baqaei also pointed out challenges in negotiations due to what he described as inconsistent political behavior in the US.
