Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has cautioned that any US intervention in the management of the Strait of Hormuz will be met with a strong military reaction. The IRGC Navy, through a public maritime radio channel, informed vessels near the area that the strait remains closed, allowing transit only with their authorization and along specified routes. Violations of these regulations were emphasized to pose a significant threat to maritime security.
The IRGC Navy, in a radio broadcast, explicitly mentioned that any US Navy actions attempting to disrupt navigation or interfere with the strait’s management would be confronted with severe military measures. Despite US President Donald Trump’s announcement of lifting the blockade on Iranian shipping in the strait, the Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC) affirmed that the US blockade of Iranian ports persists, prohibiting vessel entries and exits.
The JMIC, under a US-led framework, cautioned that vessels not adhering to blockade instructions could face engagement by US forces, potentially leading to actions aimed at disabling or destroying them. Reports from seafarers near the Strait of Hormuz indicated that a US military aircraft issued a warning to a vessel, instructing it to immediately change course, with the vessel’s movements under monitoring.
