Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) conducted retaliatory strikes against US military facilities in Bahrain and Jordan. The IRGC targeted military infrastructure, aircraft shelters, key command centers, and strategic drones in response to renewed US aggression against Iran. The attacks destroyed shelters housing US fighter jets and strategic drones stationed at the bases.
The IRGC stated that a significant amount of US military attacks against Iran originated from American bases in Jordan. It called on the people of Jordan to end the presence of US forces in their country and prevent it from being used as a launchpad for attacks against Islamic nations. The IRGC also urged Jordanians to take action to expel the occupying US army.
Additionally, the IRGC’s navy attacked the US Fifth Fleet’s facilities in Bahrain, hitting the NSI management center, warehouses storing military parts, the command and control center, and fuel storage facilities. These strikes were in response to the US naval forces’ deployment in the Indian Ocean and their control of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital energy corridor.
The IRGC warned that if the US continues to block oil and gas export routes, other routes beneficial to the US and its allies may also be closed. The region’s oil and gas exports, crucial for international markets, must be available to all or none, according to the IRGC’s statement.
