Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, criticized US President Donald Trump for shifting from ‘America first’ to ‘Israel first.’ Larijani expressed concern over escalating tensions in the Middle East due to Trump’s actions. He highlighted Trump’s focus on Israel, stating that this move has led to unnecessary conflict in the region.
Larijani took to social media to voice his disapproval, emphasizing that Trump’s decisions have endangered American lives. He condemned Trump for allegedly advancing Israeli interests at the expense of American resources and personnel. Additionally, Larijani clarified that Iran has no intention of engaging in dialogue with the United States amid the ongoing turmoil.
Amid reports suggesting Tehran’s interest in talks with the US through intermediaries, Larijani firmly stated that Iran will not negotiate with the United States. This stance comes as tensions between the two nations continue to rise, with no signs of immediate de-escalation. Larijani’s rejection of dialogue reflects Iran’s current position on diplomatic engagement with the US.
Following US strikes that resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the actions as unlawful aggression. Araghchi emphasized Iran’s right to self-defense and criticized the US for its military operations. He rejected Washington’s justifications for the strikes, further escalating the verbal conflict between the two nations.
