New Delhi, Aug 12 (IANS) Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) on Wednesday reported a marginal decline in net profit for the first quarter of fiscal 2027 even as revenue recorded strong double-digit growth during the quarter.

The state-owned company’s consolidated net profit stood at Rs 330 crore in the quarter ended June 30, down 0.3 per cent from Rs 331 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year (Q1 FY26), according to its stock exchange filing.

Revenue from operations, however, rose 18.1 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,370 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 1,160 crore in the same quarter last financial year.

Despite the growth in revenue, IRCTC’s operating performance remained under pressure. EBITDA declined 2.7 per cent to Rs 387 crore during the quarter from Rs 397 crore in Q1 FY26.

The company’s EBITDA margin also contracted sharply to 28.2 per cent in the June quarter from 34.3 per cent a year earlier, as per its regulatory filing.

The shares of the company closed at Rs 510.75, up Rs 4.30, or 0.83 per cent.

Over the last five days, the shares declined by Rs 0.85, or 0.17 per cent.

Over the last one month, the stock gained Rs 8.70, or 1.73 per cent. However, over the last six months, it declined by Rs 111.30, or 17.89 per cent.

On a year-to-date basis, the shares of the company were down by Rs 174.90, or 25.51 per cent.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) launched the beta version of its revamped ticket booking website, marking the first major redesign of the platform in over two decades.

The beta version can be accessed through the existing IRCTC website, where a dedicated link has been provided on the homepage.
