Actor Ishaan Khatter is set to star in his first comedy film, “Jugaadu,” directed by Palash Vaswani of “Gullak” and “Bada Naam Karenge” fame. The movie will also feature popular Punjabi actress Tania in a leading role, marking her Bollywood debut. The mahurat ceremony for “Jugaadu” was held in Mumbai on April 30, with filming scheduled to kick off in Punjab later this month.
Ishaan shared the news on his Instagram, teasing fans with a post captioned, “Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for #JUGAADU (sic).” This film will be his first venture into comedy, as he expressed his excitement about the project and the team behind it. The cast includes Abhishek Banerjee, Jameel Khan, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Yamini Dass, Sukhwinder Chahal, and Nirmal Rishi alongside Ishaan and Tania.
Jointly produced by Tips Films and Baweja Studio, “Jugaadu” is backed by Ramesh Taurani, Pammi Baweja, Harman Baweja, and Jaya Taurani. The cinematography is being handled by Rangarajan Ramabadran. Ishaan’s last appearance was in “Homebound” in 2025, where he starred alongside Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor. Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and produced by Dharma Productions, “Homebound” was shortlisted for the 98th Academy Awards in the ‘Best International Feature Film’ category.
