The Islamic State has intensified its anti-India propaganda through its magazine Al Azaim, targeting Indian media narratives. The outfit urges supporters to challenge these narratives, focusing on issues like the Ram Mandir and Jammu and Kashmir. Indian agencies are closely monitoring social media platforms promoting ISKP propaganda to counter anti-India campaigns.
The ISKP is renewing efforts to revive the Ram Mandir issue, questioning Indian Muslims’ silence and urging action against the Indian State. The group aims to alter the narrative surrounding the Ram Mandir verdict and inauguration, pushing its followers to engage on various platforms. It also advocates for building a network of social media accounts and blogs to counter Indian media narratives.
The Islamic State is also attempting to disrupt the growing ties between India and Afghanistan, spreading false narratives to undermine these relations. By portraying India as a bully trying to control Afghanistan, the ISKP seeks to influence public opinion against the Afghan Taliban’s engagement with New Delhi. This move is seen as an effort to strain India-Afghanistan ties.
Officials note that the ISKP’s actions come amidst the Afghan Taliban’s drone attacks on Islamic State terror camps in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Taliban’s operations against the IS have significantly weakened the outfit, leading to the ISKP aligning with Pakistan against the Taliban. Islamabad has utilized the ISKP to combat groups like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and the Balochistan Liberation Army.
