The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced the destruction of multiple Hezbollah combat positions on the Lebanese side of Mount Dov. The operation, led by the elite Alpinist Unit and Yahalom Combat Engineering Unit, targeted and demolished Hezbollah positions, including rocket-launching posts. The IDF also issued evacuation orders for residents of several villages in southern Lebanon before conducting airstrikes on Hezbollah.
The IDF emphasized that the evacuation orders for villages like Sammaaiyeh, Hanniyeh, and others were issued to ensure the safety of residents ahead of military actions against Hezbollah. Colonel Avichay Adraee, an IDF spokesman, stated that the IDF’s actions were in response to Hezbollah activities and were not intended to harm civilians. Additionally, the IDF recently uncovered an underground tunnel network constructed by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon’s Qantara area, revealing weapons, living quarters, and equipment inside the tunnels.
Furthermore, the IDF shared a video showcasing the underground tunnels and the discoveries made within them. The IDF reported dismantling over 1,000 terrorist infrastructure sites utilized by Hezbollah for attacks against Israeli troops. These sites contained various weapons, including machine guns, rifles, grenades, mines, and ammunition. The IDF also targeted Hezbollah terrorists and military infrastructure sites involved in planning attacks against IDF soldiers and Israel, including rocket-launching cells and weapons storage facilities.
